CARAT Capital LLC is a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA), established in 1996, which specializes in Computer Aided Research & Advanced Technology. CARAT combines concepts of Post-Modern Portfolio Theory, characteristics of a rigorous risk management model, and a diverse set of quantitative investment strategies. Exhaustive research has been performed on the patterns of returns and the inter-relationships among the various market sectors in each program's portfolio.  The goal is to reduce volatility and achieve superior risk-adjusted results.

More specifically, CARAT trades a broadly diversified portfolio of up to 70 global futures and options markets, including currencies, financials, energies, metals, and other commodities. CARAT achieves diversification across markets, methodologies, and time frames. A sophisticated computer model uses multiple quantitative investment strategies in combination with cutting edge portfolio risk management controls.

CARAT's professionals have solid academic backgrounds, holding graduate degrees from MIT and Columbia.  Their experiences range from portfolio management and investment research to actuarial pension consulting and statistical/knowledge discovery.

CARAT is registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the National Futures Association (NFA).  CARAT and its principals are also members of the Managed Funds Association (MFA), the Association of Investment Management and Research (AIMR) and the New York Society of Securities Analysts (NYSSA).
